Subject: Information on Flor
Hello again Mack,
I wanted to write you and tell you some news that I heard about Flor. I had the opportunity to talk with a woman from Honduras who got to know Flor and her father while she was here with us at the hospital and she said that she talked with Flor's family after they got home and she found out that Flor passed away four days after getting home to Honduras. Her mother was able to be at the hospital there in Honduras and spend her last days with her. It is a sad story, but truly I believe that without the help and support of you and Magdalena and JHC, she never would have 'recovered' to the point of being able to be flown home to see her mother for the last time. The help that you gave to both her and her father will never be forgotten, of that I am sure. Somehow I think perhaps she heard us all talking in her room about how much we wanted to get her home but we couldn't do it in the condition she was in at that time. Who knows...the miracles of what we are capable of even when we are very sick, amazes me every day. Please let me know if you have heard anything from Flor's father or family. Thank you again for everything...

Take care,
Amber Hazard, RN

JHC is glad that we had the opportunity to help Flor and her mother reunite for FLor's last few days. We send our condolences to Flor's family and her frineds and know that they will remember Flor for her love and the life she lived.
Flor died in need of a liver. Unfortunately she did not get the liver she needed before she became too ill to be able to withstand the opperation, even if a matching liver had been found. There are thousands of people , many of htem children, waiting this very moment for a lifesaving organ donation. Please become an organ donor. You need to tell your family of your decision to be a lifesaver, they will be the ones who will carry out your wishes for you. For more information on organ donation go to UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) at www.unos.org.
