It is a good thing we took Floe del Carmen into Jesica's Hope Chest...This afternoon Magdalena told me that this morning she called the girl's hospital room to check on her, and a miracle had occurred...that God has healed the child! She said, Flor was sitting up, talking to everybody....she was telling the nurses she was hungry. Asking them to take the feeding tube out of her stomach and bring her something to eat.

Magdalena says after she finished eating she told the doctors she was ready to go home! Doctors at Pitt County Memorial Hospital must be flabbergasted! Me too....only 48 hours ago her doctors were telling me that she wouldn't live another 48 hours. As a matter of fact, they were doing tissue and protein test to determine if she could qualify as an organ donor. WOW!!! Did you pray for that child?

I called the Hospital yesterday to check on Floe, she's still hanging in there! The Nurse said she was asleep when I called...but had been awake all morning, eating and drinking on her own...She said the girl was up all day yesterday and was resting up today...However, she still has liver disease, and is not expected to make it!

Hello Mack, This is Amber from Pitt County Hospital. I just wondered if you got my last email. I did send you one a few days ago to let you know that Flor was able to get back home (as far as I know) to Honduras. I'm not sure how it was all facilitated but she was able to go which I think is great. Please tell Jessica's mother that I appreciate all she did and perhaps having a "mother" in the room was just what Flor needed. :-) Thank you again for everything that you did. I hope to be able to work with you again.

Hello again Mack,
I wanted to write you and tell you some news that I heard about Flor. I had the opportunity to talk with a woman from Honduras who got to know Flor and her father while she was here with us at the hospital and she said that she talked with Flor's family after they got home and she found out that Flor passed away four days after getting home to Honduras. Her mother was able to be at the hospital there in Honduras and spend her last days with her. It is a sad story, but truly I believe that without the help and support of you and Magdalena and JHC, she never would have 'recovered' to the point of being able to be flown home to see her mother for the last time. The help that you gave to both her and her father will never be forgotten, of that I am sure. Somehow I think perhaps she heard us all talking in her room about how much we wanted to get her home but we couldn't do it in the condition she was in at that time. Who knows...the miracles of what we are capable of even when we are very sick, amazes me every day. Please let me know if you have heard anything from Flor's father or family. Thank you again for everything...
