Most of us take "good health" and "long life" for granted. Sure, we know death is inevitable, but we tend to think of it as some future event. It's scary to think of dying "before our time" and most of us think that "our time" will not come for a "long time". We plan our whole life around this idea. Now, imagine being fourteen years old and learning that you will die within a year without a heart transplant. That's what Jesica's Hope Chest is about.
